RELATIONSHIP WITH EMMETT. when rosalie decides to save emmett, it is a case of comphet , and she chose him very impulsively , after feeling odd not being attracted to edward
( despite that being carlisle's intention in changing her ) . for a while , she is in a real relationship with emmett . once she comes to terms with her sexuality , they still will pose as a married / dating at times , but solely to keep with a cover story they know that they can do . that being said , her and emmett are the closest of friends , and she does love him , just not romantically .RENESMEE. rosalie is vehemently pro-choice and supports bella in her choice to have renesmee because she respects that , not just because she wants to have a baby of her own . she believes that consent and having a say is the most important and is upset that the rest of her family doesn't seem to want to respect bella's.

HUMAN LIFE.rosalie lillian hale was born on january 29th , 1915 in rochester , new york to a very wealthy banker named joseph hale and his wife , clara hale . she had two younger brothers , lloyd and nicholas hale , and all three of them grew up with a very attentive mother who was eager to make sure that they got the most out of life . despite their already high social standing , the hales longed for more .amidst the great depression , joseph hale was lucky to not face any problems at the bank , which was a rarity and a blessing . relishing in their success , clara hale found that they could have even more if they utilized their daughter's immense beauty for their own gain . rosalie , being young and shallow , enjoyed the attention that her mother and father gave her , in buying her pretty things and praising her for being so beautiful .rose was living a happy life , though felt that something was missing from it . she felt different from her friends , most namely her friend vera , who had married young and had a baby all before the age of eighteen . at the time , she believed that she had the desire for a husband , too .in 1933 , rosalie's mother set her daughter up with the son of the wealthiest man in all of rochester -- royce king ii . it was an attempt to move them up in the world , socially speaking . rose and royce quickly became engaged , both families overjoyed that their children had found the other , for the sake of bettering their standing in society .a week before their wedding was to take place , rosalie was walking home alone ( despite her father's constant insistence that she not ) when she stumbled upon a group of drunk men . what she had not realized at first , however , was that one of them was royce . she never had seen him drunk before , and did not know how he often behaved when intoxicated . royce and his gang of friends brutally assaulted and raped her , and left her in the street , thinking that she was dead .carlisle cullen , a well known doctor in rochester , stumbled upon her after having smelled all of the blood . he recognized her , as she came from a prominent family , and decided that it would be a waste for her to die so young . he also had the intention of offering rosalie as a companion to edward , since he had his wife esme .he took her back to their home after failing to save her the traditional way and , right before she was going to die , changed her into a vampire .NEWBORN VAMPIRE LIFE.rosalie was confused and in pain . she was ready to die , and to escape the pain that she endured from the attack . initially , she was angry with carlisle for having saved her , and edward had similar opinions . he argued that she was too recognizable of a person to be travelling around with , especially since once it was discovered that rosalie hale was missing , there would be many people keeping their eyes peeled for her .carlisle informed rosalie that she didn't need to stay with them , and that it was always her choice to leave . rose took advantage of this , and went to get her revenge on royce and his group of friends . one by one , she murdered each and every one of her assaulters , saving royce for last . despite being a newborn vampre , she never drank any of their blood , disgusted by the thought of having any part of them in her .PRE-TWILIGHT.two years later , while living in tennessee , rosalie noticed a man , emmett mccarty , who was being mauled by a bear in the woods . she took the opportunity to save him , carrying him a long distance to ask carlisle to change him , worried that she wouldn't be able to do it herself .the decision to save him came from a moment of compulsory heterosexuality , after having lived with edward for so long and feeling no attraction to him ( though initially believing that she was bothered that he didn't seem to think she was beautiful enough ) .emmett and rosalie got together , and for many decades rosalie did pretend that she was romantically in love with him , though her feelings were only platonic .in 1950 , mary alice brandon and jasper whitlock showed up to join their coven . due to similarities in their physical features , jasper and rosalie often pretend to be biological siblings ( most often twins ) .TWILIGHT.rosalie and her family move to forks , washington in 2003 , two years prior to bella's arrival . she is extremely put off by bella , worried that she will put the family at risk . after edward saves bella from being crushed by a van , she even considers killing bella to protect the secret .this evolves into anger toward edward , for having shared their secret with bella . she also is put off by bella's fascination with becoming a vampire , due to her own lack of decision and how she still mourns the loss of her human life .after james tracks bella following their baseball game , rosalie stays in forks with esme to make sure that charlie is safe , despite not particularly wanting to do so .NEW MOON.she graduates high school once again , and creates the illusion that she has gone to college across the country . in reality , she has taken time off , even going on a vacation to africa with emmett . however , edward decides to leave forks for the safety of bella , effectively dislocating the entire coven . rose doesn't like life without edward , and finds it to be rather uncomfortable , seeing as they lived as siblings for so long .alice has a vision of bella jumping off a cliff , and tells rosalie about what she has seen . after alice goes to forks to check on bella and charlie , rosalie contacts edward and tells him about alice's vision , hoping that he will return home . this , combined with a miscommunication with jacob black , accidentally leads edward to believe that bella has died , and he goes to the volturi to ask them to end his life .when bella and edward return , rosalie sincerely apologizes . she still votes no to her being changed into a vampire , insistant that bella will regret it if she goes through with it .ECLIPSE.rosalie is still staying at home , the façade of her being at college still being the story to the public . one day , she gets bella alone and , in an attempt to get her to change her mind about wanting to become a vampire , tells her about her personal history . it makes no difference to bella .rosalie participates in jasper's army against the
